THE JOURNEY OF PERTH MASSAGE CHAIRS

A little bit about me

I started Perth Massage Chairs with one aim, to help people live healthier lives. Starting a business from the bottom comes with many bumps in the road, late nights and long hours. To be completely honest I don't believe I would have made it this far if it weren't for the people's lives I've seen changed from the chairs we supply. Before starting Perth Massage Chairs in 2013 I had to think about what motivated me to start this business and what goals I have as a person to push me through the troubles I would invariably face. 3 things came to mind and have stuck with me through every day since then:

1. I want to be able to help others as much as I can

2. I want to be the best human I can be and improve as much as I can every day

3. I don't want to be confined to societal generalisations and limits.

I have worked in genetics since I was 16 and have had a wonderful career helping both diagnostically and with multiple areas of research. The issue I have always had is that we help people when things are critical but how can we make our lives better so they don't get to this point? How do we prevent disease and suffering rather than looking for cures all the time?

My father unfortunately fell 6 storeys on a building site yet luckily survived. The damage to his back however led to a diagnosis in the early 1980s that concluded he would unlikely walk within  months. At this point he looked for options and has used a massage chair and hydrotherapy ever since. To this day he continues to walk.

When I was 13 I played rugby union among other sports. During a warm up before a game, I was caught in the front row of a collapsed scrum. As I fell backwards I couldn't release my head and tore the muscles off my ribs on both sides of my back. I thought I would suffer with back pain for the rest of my life. By the time I was in my early thirties I was in constant pain and didn't want to face surgery. After seeing my father's journey, I looked to get myself a massage chair. I found, probably like you, that the market was so confusing and the prices so varied. It was extremely hard to work out what was what and why there was so much variation. I believe in quality and hate to see the waste that our world is producing. Medically I understood that the right chair could really help but poor design and robotics could lead to more problems. For me when buying a massage chair you want to buy one that will last 15-20 years that you are going to look forward to getting into every day. Luckily I had come from a research background and put my skills to good use. I met multiple contacts from Australia, the USA and China that led us to and verified our manufacturer. We are very proud of them and enjoy being involved in ongoing developments; continuing to push technology and quality ever forward.

So throughout my journey these goals, my background and ongoing experience, has led Perth Massage Chairs to what it is today. In a world where people are finding it hard to trust business, products and people. We hope we can be a solace for people who are looking for real, genuine and true help.
